Huntersville is a town located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 24,960. It is located about 12 miles north of downtown Charlotte.

The racial makeup of the town is 88.42% White, 7.47% African American, 0.37% Native American, 1.50% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 1.06% from other races, and 1.13% from two or more races. 3.88% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
